Tour Our 2024 Decorated Christmas Home! | Thrifty Decor Chick

2024 Thrifty Decor Chick Christmas home decor tour!

Is it me or did Christmas arrive a month earlier than usual? šŸ˜‚ Anyone else feel like this season has FLOWN by?Ā

It must be because Thanksgiving was later this year? Whatever the reason, I’m way behind this year. I wanted to have this tour up weeks ago…but here we are!Ā

I hope you enjoy this Christmas home tour and it inspires you! I plan to put a video tour together, I’ll update this when I get that up.Ā

The only space I didn’t include this year is our basement family room and bar, but you can check out the basement tour from last year.Ā I don’t change up the holiday decor down there too much so it looks almost exactly this same this year. šŸ˜‰Ā

Bedroom

I like to add a few Christmas touches in our room every year, like our flocked, snowy tree:Ā

This year I did all silver and white ornaments on that tree, but didn’t hang them everywhere. I kind of cascaded them around the tree, in a band of ornaments.Ā

It’s just a different look and I really like how it turned out!Ā

I draped some of my favorite Norfolk greenery on our standing mirror:Ā

It needed a little something, so I made my own bell garland with some green floral wire and these tiny brass bells:

I tucked it into the garland and finished this off with a green velvet bow at the top:

Kitchen

The kitchen is always so fun to decorate! When I made these sturdy floating shelves a few years ago, I knew I would love decorating them for the holidays:Ā

Over the years I’ve inadvertently started a collection of little Christmas salt and pepper shakers and other cute tiny decor:Ā

I now have four or five sets of Christmas shakers, they are so fun!

Figuring out ways to add both form and function in the kitchen has always been fun for me!

I also use these metal rails (from IKEA) on the ends of our cabinets:Ā

And above our stovetop:Ā

The hooks make it easy to add some Christmas touches around the kitchen.Ā

I feel like they make everything less cluttered, but are also super useful. I always add a few holiday touches to the long tray that stays on our countertop all year:Ā

I adore lighting a candle in here at night and turning down the lights. There’s something about a soft and glowy kitchen!:Ā

I have to share my friend’s amazing cookie talent! I would use these as decor if I could:Ā

She delivers these to us every year and yes, they taste as good as they look!Ā

EntrywayĀ

It’s one of my favorite holiday vignettes I’ve put together!Ā

Ā

It makes me smile when I walk by every day:Ā

In the doorway leading to our main living area, I hung a couple of garlands from the top and added some bells and berries:Ā

Family RoomĀ

Usually the Christmas tree is the star of our family room, but this year the mantel stole the show!:

I went with a different look this year, and used Command hooks to drape the greenery and give it a flowy look:Ā

I always add a bunch of berries and bells to add more volume and texture to the garland. This year the addition of this brass Merry Christmas garland was the perfect finishing touch!Ā

Our family room has super high ceilings, but the holiday decor always makes it feel so cozy!:

I shared where I got those trees and a few other new finds earlier in the season. I’ve seen them at Walmart, Hobby Lobby and Target this year. They are so fun!Ā

I found so many beautiful vintage finds this year, and this carved Santa figurine was one of my favorites:Ā

Who knows if it’s actually vintage, but I fell in love with it. šŸ™‚

Dining RoomĀ

I always struggle with table centerpieces, especially during the holidays. I don’t want it to be in the way, but want something pretty.Ā

I added some burgundy taper candles from the craft store and it finished this off perfectly!Ā

It’s simple and the candlelight is beautiful, but we can still sit at the table and see across to each other:Ā

The pretty ceramic village I found at Costco last year looks great on our dining buffet:

The little houses light up but I didn’t want to mess with replacing the batteries, so I just draped some battery-operated fairy lights throughout the village.

Before I could never get the draping just right, and hanging them from the handrail made me nervous for safety reasons. (I’ve developed this anxiety about people falling down stairs…I’m weird.)

It’s so much easier to hang them this way too!

Office

The grasscloth wallpaper is perfect with the dark green built ins and molding on the walls. I had fun adding some subtle holiday touches in here:Ā

I did end up adding some lights to those DIY wreaths! They are on a timer and turn on in the evenings:

And some greenery and bells hung from burgundy velvet ribbon added a festive touch to the round mirror in my office:Ā

Whew!! I think that’s it!Ā

I hope as the year winds down, you get to spend to relax and enjoy the season with the people that mean the most to you.Ā

If you are missing someone this season, I wish you strength and peace. I didn’t mention it on the blog, but we lost one of my sisters earlier this year. This will be the first Christmas without her and it’s hitting hard.Ā

Take care of yourselves! Merry Christmas to you all!Ā
